Our Vision for Science
At Black Combe Junior School, we understand the important part that science plays in our local area and the wealth of employment opportunities it provides. We strive to inspire our pupils to develop a passion for science by building on their natural curiosity to understand more about the world around them, so that they ask, investigate and research questions both inside and out of school and use their understanding of science to make informed decisions. Science in our school will show clear progression of knowledge and skills. We build on children’s prior learning and extend this in coherent and sequential manner. Alongside teaching and developing a wide range of skills that can not only be applied in scientific enquiries but can be transferred to other areas in the wider curriculum.
