Our Curriculum

Our school motto, "To Make Every Day Count," is at the heart of everything we do. We want every child to enjoy learning, achieve their best and leave BCJS with happy memories of their time with us.

Our curriculum meets all the requirements of the National Curriculum and is enriched through a wide range of experiences and opportunities. We aim to provide children with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to become successful learners, both now and in the future. We also want them to develop high aspirations, a sense of responsibility and a desire to make a positive contribution to their school community and the wider world.

We carefully plan learning to ensure progression, breadth, balance and relevance for all our pupils. By building on what children already know and can do, we encourage them to be curious, creative and resilient learners who can work collaboratively, persevere when faced with challenges and celebrate their achievements.

While academic success is important, we believe school should offer so much more. Educational visits, residential experiences, visitors, special events and extracurricular activities all play a key role in enriching learning and helping children discover new interests and talents.

Above all, we want every child to enjoy their time at BCJS, make wonderful memories and leave us well-prepared for the next stage of their education. By doing this, we truly aim to Make Every Day Count.
