Using the White Rose Maths curriculum, we provide a broad, progressive and inclusive curriculum that supports all children in developing a deep understanding of mathematical concepts. Learning is carefully planned and taught in year groups, allowing pupils to build on their knowledge and skills step by step. Through a balance of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving, children learn to apply their mathematical understanding in a range of meaningful and real-life contexts.

Every maths lesson begins with a Daily Quick Maths session. These short, focused activities help children revisit key knowledge, practise important skills and develop confidence with number facts and calculation strategies. By regularly returning to previous learning, pupils strengthen their understanding and become increasingly fluent and secure in their mathematical thinking.

We believe that mathematics should be engaging, enjoyable and relevant. Children are encouraged to explore different strategies, explain their thinking and learn from one another. We celebrate effort and resilience, helping pupils understand that making mistakes is an important part of learning. Through discussion, exploration and problem-solving, children develop confidence in their own abilities and learn that there are often different ways to reach a solution.

A secure knowledge of times tables is an essential foundation for success in mathematics. We use Times Table Rock Stars to help children practise and recall multiplication and division facts in a fun, motivating and engaging way. Regular practice helps pupils develop confidence and fluency, supporting their learning across all areas of mathematics.

Mathematics is an important part of our vision to nurture children as individuals, celebrate their strengths and prepare them for the next stage of their education and future life.
