Welcome to Year 5's Class Page! Here you will find everything you need to know about what we have been learning about in school.
Welcome back to the new school year! I hope you've all had a lovely summer and are ready for the new school term. We will be kicking things off by going back to the times of the Anglo-Saxons. Learning where they came from, why they traveled here, about their lifestyle and much more.
Homework this year will be given out on a Friday and expected back in on Wednesday. I will always explain the homework before it is given out, but if your child would require a bit more support, then they are welcome to attend homework club on Tuesday or Wednesday morning from 8:00 am.
PE kit should include a black pair of shorts, plain white T-shirt and a pair of trainers. Please can you send your child in with their PE kit on a Monday, this should then be left in school all week and taken home again on the Friday.

Year 5 Curriculum Overview
Last year we went on our residential trip to Hinning House. We stayed for 2 nights where we did a range of activities such as walking, ghyll scrambling, orienteering, lone walking, caving, biking, bush craft and much more! The weather was lovely so we really did get the best out of this experience. The children had to face many challenges and work as a team to complete them. Overall, it was a very successful trip! Hopefully this year our trip can be even more successful and enjoyable!
